Description
The CYPRES 2 (CYbernetic Parachute RElease System) is the device that set the global standard for automatic activation devices. Engineered by Airtec, it continuously monitors altitude and descent rate, automatically deploying the reserve parachute if preset safety thresholds are exceeded.
Trusted by skydivers, instructors, and drop zones worldwide, CYPRES 2 combines proven reliability, precision engineering, and intelligent calibration to provide unmatched safety.
Why Skydivers Choose CYPRES
- Proven cutter technology for clean, reliable reserve deployment
- Automatic ground calibration for maximum accuracy
- Worldwide service & maintenance network
- User-friendly operation with intuitive controls
- Trusted industry standard used around the world
CYPRES 2 continuously measures air pressure and recalibrates to changing weather conditions to maintain precise activation accuracy.
How the CYPRES 2 Works
The CYPRES 2 uses a microprocessor to monitor altitude and vertical speed in real time. If the system determines the jumper is still in freefall below a safe altitude, it activates a cutter that releases the reserve closing loop to initiate deployment.
Unlike manual deployment systems, the cutter is contained within the reserve container and operates independently of the reserve ripcord.
Available Models & Modes
CYPRES 2 is available in multiple configurations tailored to specific disciplines:
Expert CYPRES 2
Designed for most sport skydivers and everyday jumping.
Student CYPRES 2
Higher activation parameters provide added safety margins for training.
Tandem CYPRES 2
Higher activation altitude for tandem systems and larger canopies.
Speed CYPRES 2
Higher activation speed designed for high-performance canopy pilots.
Wingsuit CYPRES (WSC)
Uses dual activation parameters to account for slow wingsuit descent speeds.
Changeable Mode CYPRES
Allows switching between Expert, Student, Tandem, and Speed modes.
Key Features
Legendary Cutter Technology
Patented cutter system ensures a clean cut of the reserve closing loop for reliable deployment.
Intelligent Calibration
Automatically adjusts to atmospheric pressure and weather changes for precise activation accuracy.
Proven Reliability
CYPRES technology has accompanied millions of jumps worldwide and activates when conditions are met.
Jump Counter & Data Tracking
Integrated jump counter and service tracking help monitor device usage.
Maintenance & Service Support
Optional maintenance service and worldwide support ensure long-term reliability.
Built for Accuracy & Durability
- Water resistant for extended exposure
- Rugged case designed for reliability
- Internal cutter protected inside the reserve container
- Self-test and calibration performed at startup
The device measures air pressure repeatedly and averages values to establish ground level before use.
